Overview
When we are hosting your virtual event, our team of production staff and operators will use a set of pre-built layouts and looks throughout your event.
All of these stylised layouts come as a standard for all virtual events with us.
Gaining a better understanding of livestream layouts we offer will allow you to visualise the sequence of your event, and in-turn provide us with a clear Runsheet for on-the-day operations and execution.
This article will demonstrate the visual layouts delegates will experience on the livestream, as well as what presenters and moderators will experience on the back-end, or "back-of-house" during a live virtual event.
Prerequisites
Your next event with Joyn is a virtual event.
You have supplied our team all event content, which includes holding slides and any video playback.
You have supplied our team with a background image for your livestream.
Screen Layout Options
Below are a list of visual layouts for both the livestream, and concurrently what will be seen in the back-of-house.
One Remote Presenter on Background
Joyn Runsheet Layout Name: "Speaker View"
This layout is a singular Zoom camera, with a white border, on your supplied background image.
You may notice in the "Back-Of-House" view that multiple people still have their camera on. The "active" speaker, or person who is currently un-muted and presenting over Zoom, will be shown.

One Remote Presenter on Background, with Remotely Shared Slides

Slides are shared by the remote presenter through the Zoom"Share Screen" function.

Equal-Sized One Remote Presenter on Background, with Remotely Shared Slides
Joyn Runsheet Layout Name: "Speaker View with Slides - Equal Size"
Much the same as the above layout, nothing changes except the size of the layout pip's (picture-in-picture).
The size of the camera pip is widened and un-cropped, and the slides' pip decreased in size to compensate. This layout is useful is you have multiple people, sitting next to each other in the same physical location, on one camera.

Remotely Shared Slides on Background with Camera Audio Only
Joyn Runsheet Layout Name: "Slides - Full Screen"
This layout removes the participants camera feed, and enlarges the presenters' shared slides.
It is important to note that the audio from the presenter is still audible.
This layout might be useful if you want to draw attention to your presenters slides, or if your presenter is sharing video content that doesn't require you to see the presenter.

Back-Of-House View:
One Remote Presenter on Background, with Title Slide
Joyn Runsheet Layout Name: "Speaker View with Title Slide"
This layout is an offset side-by-side of a singular Zoom camera and a title slide or muted video, with white borders, on a background.
The title slide or video can be provided to us prior to your show, and shown to the audience when cued on the runsheet.

Full Screen Holding Slides and Video Playback - No Background
Joyn Runsheet Layout Name: "Video" or "Pre-Record" or "Holding Slide"
Known to our operators and production team as "VT" or videotape, this is a full-screen video playback, or holding slide, without a background.
Videos are played in fullscreen on the livestream, with only the audio audible on the stream; the Zoom audio is not accessible to the stream during playback.
Holding slides are played in fullscreen on the livestream, with suppled background music audible on the stream. Similarly, Zoom audio and video cannot be seen or heard on the stream.

Gallery Layouts on Background - 2 to 6 Presenters
Joyn Runsheet Layout Name: "Gallery View - # People"
(Substitute # for how many people will appear in the gallery - maximum 6 people).
For panel discussions and live Q&A's, we suggest placing your presenters, moderators and hosts into a gallery view. This look allows the audience to see all participants at once, and they will be visible to the audience for the entirety of the session.
It is important to note that anyone in the Zoom meeting with their camera on will be seen in the gallery, so only people partaking in the panel/Q&A should have their camera on.
Furthermore, it is critical that no presenter turns off their camera for the entirety of the session.

As mentioned above, all participants with their camera on will be shown in the gallery layout. This view demonstrates a back-of-house view of a 3-person gallery.
Accessibility Layouts
We also offer visual layouts that accommodate accessibility options such as SLI (sign language interpretation).
Sign language interpreters will appear side-by-side presenters or videos to allow for real-time translation.
It must be noted that sign language interpretation must be organised in advance, and unless required by a presenter, the sign language interpreter will not be visible in the back-of-house Zoom meeting.
